Book an assessmentMeet Dr. CelleWhat is a hair transplant?
A hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure that moves follicular units from the donor area (usually the back and sides of the head, which resist androgenetic alopecia) to thinning areas. It is performed under local anaesthesia and leaves no linear scar.
Techniques: FUE, DHI and Density HD
- FUE — follicles extracted one by one with a micro-punch, ideal for covering larger areas.
- DHI — direct implantation with a Choi-type implanter, giving control over the angle and direction of each follicle; very useful for the hairline and areas with existing hair.
- Density HD (FUE + DHI) — both techniques combined to maximise density and natural results.
- Beard and eyebrows — transplants with the same precision on the face.
Who is a good candidate?
People with stabilised androgenetic alopecia and a sufficient donor area. Before surgery we assess your hair-loss pattern, donor quality, age and expectations. If hair loss is still active, medical treatment (hair PRP, mesotherapy and/or medication) is usually recommended first to protect the hair you have.
The process
- Medical assessment in person or by video call.
- Personal plan: technique, approximate number of grafts and hairline design.
- Procedure under local anaesthesia.
- Follow-up throughout regrowth, with the same doctor from start to finish.
Frequently asked questions
Is a hair transplant painful?
It is performed under local anaesthesia, so the procedure itself is well tolerated. Discomfort afterwards is usually mild and managed with standard pain relief.
When will I see results?
Transplanted hair usually sheds in the first weeks and then regrows progressively. The result is typically assessed between 9 and 12 months.
Will there be a scar?
FUE and DHI leave no linear scar; only tiny dot-like marks in the donor area, usually invisible with short hair.
Can my first assessment be online?
